Bio

I am a professional librarian by training, receiving my MSLS from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill School of Library and Information Science in May, 1983. My educational background includes coursework in Library Facilities Planning, and a thesis documenting the history of the planning and design process for the RB House Undergraduate Library at the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill. I worked for the Public Library of Charlotte and Mecklenburg County from 1986 to 1998, in a variety of positions including Branch Reference, Manager of the Government Documents Information Section, and Manager of the Virtual Library. During that time, I was involved in various facilities projects, from redesigning branch service desk areas to providing input on the Main Library facility. For the past 12 years, I've worked in project management roles at First Union/Wachovia/Wells Fargo, as the Multimedia Network Coordinator for a network of training labs for Tellers and Financial Specialists, to Learning Infrastructure and Planning Specialist for classroom facilities, to Project Manager for classroom and office buildouts. I recently completed the 2009-2010 Cohort with my fellow teammates at San Diego State University. I am interested in sharing experiences with others who manage or have responsibilities managing, corporate learning facilities and adult education, including colleges and universities.
